A fantastic visually appealing Middle Eastern product which smells citrussy and spicy - the flavours work really well together - this is an innovative, unusual and very sexy food product we love. Great Taste judge, 2013
Labneh is a Levantine cream cheese made by straining yogurt. Originating from Lebanon, it’s popular all over the Middle East. We have hand crafted our award-winning Labneh, each ball is rolled individually. The Labneh is then stored in coldpressed, infused rapeseed oil.
Here at Duke Street provenance is a priority. We make our own Labneh from only the freshest, expertly sourced, quality ingredients. We use Anna Forshaw’s award winning yogurt. The milk comes from her own home reared pure Fresian cows at Alston Dairy. Our Goaty Labneh is made from Delamere goat’s yogurt. Our oil is Supernature coldpressed rapeseed oil, produced at Carrington Barns farm in Midlothian. Cold pressing retains the natural flavour and nutritional benefits.
We hope you agree that we have given a modern twist to a traditional product. Labneh is being championed by great modern chefs like Yotam Ottolenghi and Anissa Helou. Check out some of our recipes!
All 4 of our Labneh varieties have won gold star Great Taste awards. We are also in the running for East Lothian food & drink’s most Innovative Product award 2014.
